In this talk, Flavia Zimbardi traces the choices that gradually expanded her practice, exploring how collaboration, publishing, and community-building became her way of navigating and challenging the field—and what she learned about designing systems as deliberately as the typefaces themselves.

Type Design Development Workshop with Libbie Bischoff
Wednesdays, Sep. 9 – Nov. 11, 2026
Type Design Development Workshop is a critique-based course with no lectures and no b.s.! Each student will bring in a project that is in its early or middle stages to work on for the duration of this class. Over the span of 10 weeks, students participate in biweekly small-group critiques, with optional office hours between sessions for questions and technical support.
