Type Design Development Workshop with Libbie Bischoff
Wednesdays, Jun. 3 – Aug. 5, 2026
Are you struggling to finish your typeface? Did you recently finish a type design program and are missing the regular feedback sessions? Or perhaps you simply want to develop your typeface in a group of like-minded and motivated classmates? If any of this sounds relatable, this class might be perfect for you!
Type Design Development Workshop is a critique-based course with no lectures and no b.s.! Each student will bring in a project that is in its early or middle stages to work on for the duration of this class. Over the span of 10 weeks, students participate in biweekly small-group critiques, with optional office hours between sessions for questions and technical support.

Crash Course in Revival Type Design with Libbie Bischoff
Tuesdays, Jun. 2 – Jun. 30, 2026
Creating revival typefaces is one of the best ways to learn the fundamentals of type design. In this condensed 5-week course, you will learn how to create a font based on a historical reference. Each student will begin with an inspiring source of type and will use that as the foundation for your revival project.
Whether you’re a graphic designer, a beginner type designer, or trying it for the very first time, this class promises to be a fun and engaging learning experience.

Experimental Type Design: Pencil, Pixel, Print with Juan Villanueva × Secret Riso Club
Thursdays, April. 30 – May. 14, 2026
This three‑session workshop is a hands‑on introduction to experimental type design. Participants will move from expressive analog mark making to digital type construction and finally to printed work. The goal is to explore how letters carry voice, how systems emerge from sketches, and how type can become a tool for personal expression.
Across three weeks, you will draw, digitize, build a small typeface, and use it to design a poster and a spread for a collaborative class zine printed at Secret Riso Club. The workshop centers on thinking through making. You will discover ideas through drawing, shape systems through vectors, and share your voice through print.
