What does “hybrid” actually mean in practice?
And other questions we’re exploring in tomorrow’s lecture with ZAMME.
ZAMME: Creating Spaces to Connect, Exchange, and Collaborate with Karen Mata Luna and Sonia Malpeso
🗓️ Friday, March 20, 2026
⏰ 1:00PM - 2:00PM ET
📍 Free and Online
Karen Mata Luna and Sonia Malpeso will share their experience building ZAMME, a hybrid cultural platform for visual communication based in Mexico City, and the key lessons they’ve learned along the way. They’ll reflect on how their practice has evolved through collaboration, experimentation, and continuous learning.
They’ll share what they’re learning as they prepare to open a dedicated physical space in Mexico City, integrating bookshop, design archive, creative studio, and venue for talks and workshops. How do you create infrastructure that serves both local and international communities? What does it mean to operate translocally in design practice? And what does “hybrid” actually mean in practice?
